What if we combined the most geeky scientists and antisocial men on earth with a completely regular woman, who likes party, has a new boyfriend after the other and works as a waitress? The result is The Big Bang Theory, a particular sitcom which will make you laugh your head off.

In a flat in Pasadena (California) live two physicists, Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper. Leonard has a PhD in experimental physics. He’s lactose-intolerant and short-sighted and fails in every relationship with women. He is quite a normal guy if we compare him with his roommate Sheldon, who was a child prodigy, starting college at the age of 11. As a theoretical physicist, he possesses a master’s degree, two PhDs, an IQ of 187 and no sign of humility. He has an obsession with routine and a strong difficulty to detect sarcasm, tell lies and keep secrets. Oh! And he loves saying Bazzinga! when someone falls for one of his jokes.

There are two other nerds that join the group. Rajesh Koothrappali, an Indian PhD astrophysicist who hates Indian food and is unable to talk to women unless he drinks alcohol, and Howard Wolowitz, a NOT-PhD engineer (he has a master’s degree but apparently this is nothing for all the scientists around him). This Jewish who still lives with his mother, presumes to be a ladies man, although he repulses every women with his outrageous pick-up lines.

This gang of nerds loves videogames, comic books and Science Fiction . They know all about the universe but nothing about human relationships. But they have a twist in their lives when a beautiful, kind and fun woman called Penny moves next to Leonard and Sheldon’s flat. The boys are all anxious to know her, excepting Sheldon, who’s only interested to know if she applies all the requirements to be a not-annoying neighbor. Penny is just a regular girl. She works as a waitress in the Cheesecake Factory, likes party as anyone else and goes out with several boyfriends over the different seasons of the series. It is so difficult for her to treat her new neighbors as much as it is for them to treat her. They’re very different from each other, but with time, they become very good friends and Penny finally joins the group. Leonard has a crash on her and always tries to succeed having a relationship with her. At the beginning he finds it almost impossible but then Penny also falls in love with him.

The series is very well made. In fact, there’s a PhD physicist who helps the screenwriters with the dialogues. But the most interesting thing of it are the characters’ particular personalities and the clueless they are about certain aspects of life.

I truly LOVE The Big Bang Theory. I find it absolutely hilarious and the characters are just great. I always watch it with all my family (we’re SO addicted to it xD) and it makes us laugh like a group of idiots. Don’t miss the opportunity to see it. You won’t regret it.☻
