How To Train Your Dragon

I had to write this article. I just had to, because this soundtrack is amazing. One of the best I’ve ever heard, and by the hand of a wonderful movie, Dreamwork’s How To Train Your Dragon. John Powell was the creator of this masterpiece, the same compositor who made the music of movies like Antz, The Road To El Dorado (along with Hans Zimmer), Chicken Run, I Am Sam, Shrek, The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Kung Fu Panda, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and lots more.

This is the list of tracks:

1. “This Is Berk”
2. “Dragon Battle”
3. “The Downed Dragon”
4. “Dragon Training”
5. “Wounded”
6. “The Dragon Book”
7. “Focus, Hiccup!”
8. “Forbidden Friendship”  →  Toothless is so cute! (Hiccup’s dragon)
9. “New Tail”
10. “See You Tomorrow”  →  This one’s like fun 😀
11. “Test Drive”  →  I love it!
12. “Not So Fireproof”
13. “This Time for Sure”
14. “Astrid Goes for a Spin”
15. “Romantic Flight”    This one is so touching
16. “Dragon’s Den”
17. “The Cove”
18. “The Kill Ring”
19. “Ready the Ships”
20. “Battling the Green Death”
21. “Counter Attack”
22. “Where’s Hiccup?”  → I dare you to watch this part of the movie and not to cry, even the toughest guy would break out into tears!
23. “Coming Back Around”  →  Very, very powerful
24. “Sticks & Stones” (Performed by Jónsi)
25. “The Vikings Have Their Tea”

You can listen to the whole soundtrack by clicking here. It will lead you to a Youtube playlist.

This soundtrack accompanies the film perfectly. It includes heartfelt songs that could even make you cry, or others that make you very nervous with their increasing suspense. This is not just a combination of random tracks, not at all. It’s an actual soundtrack. There’s a red line that joins the whole of it, but at the same time each of the songs is good by itself. You shouldn’t miss it, as you shouldn’t miss the movie either. Now, if you have seen the movie, listen to the soundtrack, or both, tell us your opinion and which are your favourite songs. We would love to listen to you!

↑ This is the only track which is not instrumental, it’s not my favourite (there are betters) but I loved the video, since it gives you an idea of how much beautiful the movie is. Enjoy it! 🙂

I agree with you totally… the soundtrack for How To Train Your Dragon is amazing!

Although I didn’t think the movie was touching or anything… but I find myself watching my favourite scenes over and over again just to hear the music. Test Drive is my favourite 🙂

Yeah, Test Drive is great 😀
And if I listen to the soundtrack, only the music, I can see the whole movie on my mind, it has that effect to me. But it is even better with the images. I just love it.
